ITFMA first coined the phrase “IT Financial Management” over a decade ago. The term refers to the wide variety of principles, policies, disciplines and tools used to financially manage an information technology organization. For the past ten years, the term often has been used by companies to refer to their specific products and services such as chargeback and expense management. The main reason ITFMA chose to offer for the first time a conference entitled “IT Financial Management Overall Curriculum Conference” is to make it clear to all in our profession what IT financial management actually mean. This conference does not address all of the disciplines and tools used in IT financial management, but it does address a lot of them.
